Terms of Use

Last updated: June 20, 2026. This was drafted to actually cover how this specific site works, not generic boilerplate — but it was not written or reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed before relying on it for a real launch, especially the liability and indemnification sections.

1. Agreement to These Terms

By using CacheTrades (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to submit an offer, create a trader profile, or otherwise submit content to the Site. By submitting anything, you're confirming you meet this requirement.

3. What This Site Does

The Site tracks a series of "trade lines," each starting from an initial item and advancing through a sequence of trades over time. Members of the public may submit offers to trade an item for whatever is currently associated with a trade line. The Site administrator reviews offers and may accept, reject, or request changes, entirely at their discretion.

Approving an offer on the Site does not transfer legal ownership of anything by itself. Any actual exchange of items is a private arrangement between the people involved — the Site is not a party to that exchange and isn't responsible for it actually happening, the condition of any item, or any dispute between traders.

4. Submitting an Offer

When you submit an offer, you're confirming that:

• You own the item you're offering, or have the legal right to trade it;
• The description, photo, and other details you provide are accurate and not misleading;
• You have the right to share any photo you upload, and it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights;
• Your submission doesn't break any law or violate anyone else's rights.

Submitting an offer doesn't guarantee it'll be accepted — the Site administrator can accept, reject, or request more information for any reason, including reasons that have nothing to do with the offer's merits.

5. Trader Profiles

If your offer is accepted, you may be invited to submit a public profile (name, photo, bio, and optionally a website) via a private link. Submitted profiles are reviewed before they go live. You're confirming that any photo or content you submit is yours to share, or that you have permission to share it.

6. License to Your Content

By submitting an offer, photo, bio, or other content, you grant the Site a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content on the Site (for example, on the public trade timeline or trader gallery) as part of operating the Site. You keep ownership of what you submit — this license is limited to running the Site as described here.

7. Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information;
• Submit content that's unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringes someone else's rights;
• Try to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Site;
• Use the Site to harass, impersonate, or harm anyone.

The Site administrator may remove any content or refuse service to anyone, for any reason, including violating these Terms.

8. No Warranty

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. The Site administrator doesn't promise the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Site administrator won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any loss of items, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or any trade — even if advised such damages were possible.

10. Indemnification

You agree to cover the Site administrator for any claims or damages, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Site, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
